Can Ron DeSantis Make America Florida? (Pro/Con 2024)
The Pros and Cons of Ron DeSantis for President in 2024
My fellow Patriots,
America’s most conservative modern governor has thrown his hat into the ring for the GOP nominee in the 2024 presidential election.
Ron DeSantis is not just the second term governor of the second most populous state, but he also is a Yale and Harvard graduate who went on to join the US Navy in 2004 and then served as the legal advisor to SEAL Team One to be later deployed in 2007 to Iraq. In 2012 DeSantis was elected to the House of Representatives and served three terms from 2012-2018, where he became a founding member of the Freedom Caucus. In 2018 he ran to be the governor of his home state of Florida where he narrowly won his election and during his first term and into his second term he has turned the swing state of Florida into the most conservative, deep red state of Florida.
As governor of Florida he has taken on Disney, massively reduced the state debt while cutting taxes, boosting the state population, removed porn from schools, and just beat Miami’s teachers union and their push for porn and LGBT issues to be taught in schools. Through all of this, he cared for his wife, Casey, as she was fighting (and beating) cancer.
Pros
During Ron DeSantis’ first term as governor, after the election fraud in Broward County, FL during the 2018 and 2020 elections, he worked to turn the election system around to make ballot counting transparent and quick. The change was so apparent that for 2022 gubernatorial election, the entire state was done counting all of their ballots by 11pm EST on election night and there was no hint of fraud throughout the entire state.
Nearly every state had some form of lockdown during the 2020 Covid-19 “plandemic”. Florida was the last hold out state as DeSantis resisted pressure from the Trump White House and the media to lock the state down, but on April 1st, 2020 DeSantis did order the state to lockdown. Granted, that lockdown order did not last long because on May 4th, 2020, DeSantis was already reopening the state against the recommendations of the CDC and the Trump White House. The same thing occurred with the Covid-19 “vaccines”; DeSantis was initially promoting them, but as the data began to come out, he did the right thing and opposed them. In fact, Florida is still the only state to not recommend that people get any of the shots or boosters. Additionally, Florida is still the only state to convene a grand jury to look into the data and consider charges of fraud against the pharmaceutical companies involved. On top of all the things mentioned, Florida has banned mask mandates and forced vaccination, not just for the public sector, but also the private sector. As of right now, Ron DeSantis is the only GOP presidential candidate to call for a reckoning against the tyranny of Covid-19 including the lockdowns, mask mandates, and the forced vaccination.
While Ron DeSantis has been accused of being in the pocket of those such as George Soros, Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, and other globalists, such claims are far from reality. In fact, DeSantis is the only governor to fire multiple Soros-funded state prosecutors for not doing their job and being soft on crime. Additionally, DeSantis worked to get legislation passed in Florida to ban the use of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC). The Florida governor has also called out the World Economic Forum and warned them against trying to set up shop in the state.
While interconnected with the globalists, China is considered a distinct threat to the US and DeSantis has taken numerous actions against them. Such actions include banning Chinese land ownership in Florida and ejecting Chinese owned companies the state. Additionally, if elected president, he has vowed to take more action against China on multiple fronts.
The woke agenda has multiple fronts of attack that it uses, whether it is DEI and ESGs at the corporate level or pushing the LGBT agenda upon children in school. In Florida, DeSantis has taken action against DEI and ESGs in numerous ways. He pulled over $2 billion from BlackRock because of their ESG polocies. He has also called on Florida lawmakers to send legislation to his desk to prevent state investments with woke companies and financial managers.
DeSantis, as a father, knows how important it is to protect children’s innocence; and that is exactly what he has done in Florida. He has pushed for and signed legislation that banned the discussion and teaching of pronouns, sexual education, and LGBT propaganda up to the 3rd grade as well as restricting such topics based on the appropriate grade of the students. In response to the “Don’t Say ‘Gay’” bill (as it was called by the media) Disney tried to use their special self-governing protections to advocate against this bill; but after a long legal battle, Ron DeSantis was successful in removing their self-governing status. When teacher’s unions have tried to oppose Florida’s laws to protect children from the woke agenda, DeSantis has fought against them too. In fact, such recently DeSantis beat the Miami teacher’s union using new laws which require 60% of members to pay dues, which the union failed to meet.
DeSantis is not just protecting school children, but he is also protecting unborn children, as he signed a pro-life bill in 2023 which instituted a ban on abortions after six weeks.
Ron DeSantis recognizes the importance of energy independence to the entirety of the US economy and if he is elected president, he has promised to massively ramp up our domestic oil production after the Biden Administration cut back all of the Trump Administration’s domestic oil gains.
The southern border is being flooded with millions of illegal immigrants and DeSantis has the boldest plan to stop the surge. He would immediately close the border, activate the military to defend the border, have the cartels labeled as terrorist organizations, make E-Verify a national requirement, and limit legal immigration. He would also work to deport as many illegal immigrants as he can.
Con:
While DeSantis has taken a lot of criticism from the globalists, the media, and the RINOs for his stance on the Russia/Ukraine war; as he vowed to cut the endless funding of Ukraine and try to garner peace between the two nations, I feel like DeSantis has left the door open for US involvement in a war. While such involvement has not included endless funding and troops on the ground, I believe the appropriate response is that the US should totally be uninvolved except for the diplomatic negotiation of peace. Unfortunately, there is not a single GOP presidential candidate who has taken such a stance.
Conclusion:
First of all, I tried to come up with more “cons” for Ron DeSantis, but I legitimately could not think of another actual criticism of the governor of Florida. Many Trump supporters have tried to accuse him of affairs, lying about his covid record, and his strong stance against China, but everything accusation has been proven false in time. DeSantis’ biggest challenge is going to be defeating the public perception of Trump’s dominance in the polls, and constantly being lied about by the media (both the Left and the Right). Other than that, he has dominated in every public debate, including his one-on-one against California governor Gavin Newsom. If Republicans want the candidate who is the strongest on the issues from a policy implementation standpoint, as has become apparent during his two terms as the governor of the second largest state, then DeSantis is probably the best option.
Nope, not gonna vote for a Globalist Bushite.
