National Average Gas and Diesel Prices for December 2023
Tracking the Great Reset through Gas Prices
My fellow Patriots,
As 2023 has drawn to a close, the fuel prices are still just as unstable as always.
The national average gas prices for December 2023 opened up at $3.248 per gallon and they decreased for 17 days to $3.066 per gallon on December 18th. The next day, the price rose to $3.080 per gallon and continued to do so for 3 days to $3.129 per gallon, On December 23rd, the national average gas prices decreased to $3.128 per gallon and continues to decreases through the rest of the month to close at $3.112 per gallon. All data is from AAA.
The national average diesel price for December 2023 started at $4.215 per gallon and they decreased for 17 days to $4.008 per gallon on December 18th. The next day prices rose to $4.015 per gallon and they continued to rise for 3 days to $4.031 per gallon on December 22nd. On December 23rd, the national average diesel price decreased to $4.029 per gallon and did so for 3 days to $4.013 per gallon. On December 27th, diesel prices rose to $4.016 per gallon and to $4.017 the following day. On December 28th, the price was down to $4.013 and the decrease continued through the end of the month to close 2023 at $4.000 per gallon.
Just as fuel prices have been unpredictable for the majority of 2023, they remained the same for December. With a war in the Middle East, fuel prices should be skyrocketing, especially as the Biden Administration is continuing to reduce our domestic oil production. Yet, there was only a slight increase in the fuel prices as Houthi forces have fired upon shipping vessels in the Red Sea which has forced companies to use alternative routes. Other than that, in the final month of 2023, prices had net decreases.
Normally prices would increase around Christmas and the New Year as people are traveling for the holidays, but not this year. Prices instead declined during that period; even diesel prices only slightly rose amidst all the extra transportation of goods for Christmas. We should be grateful that prices are decreasing, as they have been too high, but as I have stated before, the fact that I am not seeing the mechanism of decline is very concerning. Everything in the economy happens for a reason, unless prices are being manipulated at the top; and it is very likely the reason for these unprecedented fuel price decreases.
Looking into 2024, as usual, just do whatever you can to reduce your expenditures so you can afford essential goods like food and fuel; especially as the media is predicting a black swan event to occur sometime this year before the election takes place.
